Supporter laying - Which system is right for me?

FLEXIBAL - Self-leveling adjustable supports

Height adjustable from 25 to 185 mm

FLEXIBAL adjustable supports are designed for loose laying of ceramic or mineral terrace tiles, decking boards, and porcelain/concrete tiles from 20 mm thickness. Because the FLEXIBAL adjustable supports come in different heights, they allow for easy construction heights of 25 to 185 mm together with the extension piece. Height adjustment is precise to the millimeter, even under high loads, via the integrated screw thread, and the support plates offer high stability. The entire construction of the FLEXIBAL adjustable supports is designed for load-bearing capacity and stability for up to 400 kg per support and withstands ambient temperatures from -40 °C to +75 °C.

Automatic inclination compensation up to +/- 5% for flat surfaces

Application of self-leveling adjustable supports

The ability to individually adjust the inclination to the substrate is the major advantage of a raised floor system for creating fast and finely leveled slopes. The convex raised floor ball head with automatic inclination compensation allows for a continuous slope of up to +/- 5%. Point compensation for uneven ground conditions saves time and money during installation, even if the substrate is not 100% level. Later occurring unevenness in the terrace paving can be adjusted. The self-leveling head is equipped with a non-slip anti-shock rubber plate and ensures secure fixing of the laid tiles without special tools. The 2 mm thick spacer strips are easy to remove for edge installation.

Modular system

Height compensation with adjustable feet

All FLEXIBAL adjustable support components are modular and work on a plug-in principle. This makes them extremely easy to configure for a wide variety of installation heights. You can not only get the adjustable support as a set ( DURAL adjustable support Flexibal BA & DURAL Flexibal MB adjustable feet are available not only as a complete set, but also as individual components. If you only need the base, then the DURAL adjustable base Flexibal BAO the right one for you. This can be used as a self-leveling one in combination with the DURAL Flexibal KS adjustable support head can function as such, as well as being used as a basic element in the rail system. In order to obtain a straight terrace covering in the end, we also offer you a DURAL extension piece for Flexibal BA and a DURAL leveling plate for Flexibal MB adjustable supports on.

Application area: Stilt storage

Suitable for use with all panel types, rectangular and square formats with edge-to-edge installation, and for laying decking panels. For all compatible coverings from 20 mm thickness:

  • Ceramic terrace elements
  • Porcelain stoneware tiles
  • Natural stone
  • Marble and Granite
  • Precast concrete slabs
  • Wooden flooring

Installing a terrace covering with FLEXIBAL adjustable supports is easy, fast and straightforward on all compatible substrates:

  • On existing soils
  • Plastic tarpaulins
  • Liquid membrane
  • Cement subfloor
  • Stabilized gravel
  • Every type of seal and coating

Installation of self-leveling adjustable supports

Before you begin positioning the adjustable support feet, the subsoil must be prepared according to the specific conditions and be sufficiently load-bearing. Suitable subsoils include, for example, concrete, gravel/crushed stone or wood. For a gravel/crushed stone subsoil, 40 x 40 cm plates must be placed under the base elements of each adjustable support foot for additional stabilization. In cases where surface water cannot seep into the subsoil, professional waterproofing with sufficient drainage must be provided. The waterproofing must be protected from damage using suitable means.

  1. Start by positioning the adjustable feet at one corner. Choose an adjustable foot at the correct height and adjust it with the height adjustment ring. Check that the height is even with a Use a spirit level to ensure that the finished surface is level. The self-leveling head automatically compensates for slopes and any unevenness.
  2. Place the panels on the adjustable supports and check the correct height adjustment again. Proceed in this way for the entire area.
  3. For edge areas, the base element may need to be cut to fit at the markings and the webs on the head broken out in such a way that the laying of the plate to the edge is not impaired.

FLEXIBAL Rail System

Install rail system

The DURAL Rail Flexible This is the modular and super-fast installation system of adjustable support feet with a beam principle. This system is chosen when better load distribution and higher stability of the flooring structure are desired. In combination with the DURAL adjustable support foot Flexibal BAO, construction heights of 35 to 153 mm and an increase module of 20 mm are possible. The rail system enables maximum stability and load capacity, as the rails are locked into the adjustable support foot head. The robust aluminum rails guarantee a load capacity of 400 kg with a maximum distance of 50 cm between the adjustable support foot bases. The adjustable support foot heads can be flexibly positioned on the entire rail, which saves a lot of time during installation. If you opt for this system or for adjustable support feet in general, there is enough space under the plates for cables or other penetrations. They are also frost-proof due to the open joint.

Installation of FLEXIBAL rail system

Rail system setup

Just as with the installation of self-leveling adjustable support feet, the substrate for the rail system must be prepared accordingly and sufficiently load-bearing. Suitable substrates include, for example, concrete, gravel/crushed stone or wood. For a gravel/crushed stone substrate, 40 x 40 cm plates must be placed under the base elements of each adjustable support foot for additional stabilization. In cases where surface water cannot seep into the substrate, professional waterproofing with sufficient drainage must be provided. The waterproofing must be protected from damage using suitable means. We recommend using a drainage mat for this purpose.

  1. Connect the DURAL adjustable base Flexibal BAO each with the DURAL Adjustable Support Head Flexibal KF for rail mounting.
  2. Start by positioning the adjustable support feet at one corner. Depending on the ground and slope, it may be necessary to place one under each adjustable support foot. Anti-slip pad for trestle stands to lay down.
  3. Once you have completed the positioning of the adjustable feet, begin by clicking in the DURAL Flexible Rail .
  4. Check the even height with a Spirit level , to ensure the finished surface is level.
  5. Once the rail system has been completely installed and aligned, the one you chose will be placed on the rails. DURAL Rail Head Flexible SA (for 2 mm or 4 mm joint width) inserted.
  6. Optional: In addition, the plate covering can be made with the DURAL CLIP Flexible can be fixed. The clips allow for a clean & even distance to the wall and help to fix front panels.

FLEXIBAL Clip System

Application of Flexibal CLIPS

FLEXIBAL clip system for easy, loose-laid cladding of terrace steps, finishes and platforms. You have already found this product in the installation instructions for the rail system, which means that the clips, coordinated with the FLEXIBAL adjustable support modules, can also be used with the rail system. The system is very popular for platforms, step and corner cladding and is also suitable for wall connections for a special, optimal solution. The robust stainless steel clip system also enables time-saving installation of ceramic terrace elements and concrete slabs up to 20 mm thick.

The DURAL flexible connection clip for wall mounting:

The wall connection clip is a spacer for the house wall and, in addition to fixing the tiles, also serves as impact protection. By using the wall connection clip, both the tile covering and the house wall are protected by preventing the tiles from hitting and slipping against the wall. Furthermore, it creates a uniform distance to the wall, resulting in a consistent grout pattern.

The DURAL flexible connection clip for corner connections:

The connecting clips help to secure 20 mm thick front panels. The corner connecting clips are compatible with all DURAL Flexibal adjustable support heads. The securing starts at the foot of the adjustable support and ends at the panel support. This system allows for clean and stable finishes. Each piece always contains one clip for upper and lower panel fastening.

The DURAL flexible connection clip for side connection:

Just like the clip for the corner connection, the side connection also secures the covering and is also suitable for holding front panels stably. A side connection clip, like the corner connector, always contains both the bottom and top clips.

We hope that we were able to help you.
