What are tile profiles used for?

Application example tile profile Application of tile profile

Planning to lay tiles and want to design them optimally? Then we recommend tile profiles that ensure a perfect finish for your tiles. While tiles are generally very robust and easy to care for, damage such as chipping or cracking can occasionally occur. To avoid such damage, we offer a wide selection of different tile strips in our shop. Tile strips offer perfect protection and at the same time set visually appealing accents.

Tile profiles and their applications

Tile profiles can be used in a variety of flexible ways. Tile strips are usually installed to protect the edges, preventing potential damage to the tiles. Furthermore, the profiles also allow for a visual separation of two different floor coverings or tiles. In addition, they are suitable as finishing profiles for wall protrusions, baseboards, wall corners, and floor edges. You also have a choice not only of straight tile profiles, but also of flexible, bendable tile profiles, often used with rounded tiles. Tile profiles are not only found on the floor, but also often serve as a finish in wall design, as they can be processed both vertically and horizontally. Furthermore, tile profiles are used as decorative elements, e.g., for framing mirrors. The processing possibilities...

Tile profile - the different shapes

The most common tile trims are square, angled, and quarter-round profiles, which ensure a perfect finish for your tiled floor. The difference between the individual shapes? Here's a quick explanation.

Angle profile

Corner profiles are the most classic form of tile profiles. This shape not only covers unsightly edges but also protects them from wear and tear. They can be used in all areas of the house. Due to their special angle and various material thicknesses, they can even be used in areas that are permanently and heavily used. Besides their protective function, corner profiles also contribute to modern design. The profiles are versatile and, in addition to creating clean transitions and demarcations between different floor coverings, provide optimal edge protection. You can install the corner profile vertically or horizontally to achieve the best possible end result for your construction project.

We offer our angle profiles made of aluminum, stainless steel, brass and PVC in various colors and surfaces. For floor coverings with a curved edge, we also offer flexible angle profiles in our online shop.

Square profile

Application example: Square profile Square profile with square corner

Square, practical, beautiful! Square profiles are separating, edge protection and finishing profiles that ensure a modern, sophisticated design in your living spaces. They are used where floor and wall coverings are required to meet the highest standards. Due to their square shape, the tile profiles allow for a clean separation of different coverings and areas. In addition to their protective function, the decorative aspect of this profile is also a key feature.

We offer our square profiles in aluminum, stainless steel and PVC. Of course, we also have matching tile corner profiles in various designs, finishes and colors.

Quarter-circle profile

Quarter-circle profiles, or round profiles, are used for the simple and precise design of rounded edges and create a clean finish for exterior wall corners and floor coverings. Like the previous profiles, the round shape is suitable for unusual designs and beautiful curves, in addition to its protective function. Round profiles are used, among other things, with tiles, carpets, parquet, or natural stone.

These profiles can also be installed both vertically and horizontally. Therefore, they are often found in dividing areas in the bathroom or vertically on exterior corners in the living area.

Of course, we also offer this shape in aluminum, stainless steel and PVC with the appropriate accessories such as inner and outer corners.

The installation of tile profiles

We offer all tile strips in the common heights.

  4. 9 mm
  5. 10 mm
  6. 11 mm
  7. 12.5 mm
  8. up to 30 mm with our flexible tile strips

It is always advisable to buy tile strips 1-2 mm higher than the tile thickness of the tiles to be laid.

Care of tile profiles?

Tile rails generally require no special care. Soiling can be removed with commercially available cleaning agents. Cleaning agents must not contain hydrochloric acid or hydrofluoric acid and must not be abrasive. The manufacturer's care instructions should also be observed.

Which material is the right one?

We have now given you a first insight into our range of tile profiles. Have you decided on a shape, but are still unsure about the material? Then here is a brief introduction to the different materials.

Stainless steel - The right choice for regular stress.

The most sought-after material in our shop is stainless steel. You can choose between stainless steel V2A and stainless steel V4A. The latter is often used when subjected to very high stresses. All stainless steel profiles are available in the finishes "natural", "polished" and "brushed". All three versions have the same mechanical strength, which makes stainless steel the most popular material for tile trims!

PVC - Bring color to the profile

PVC tile trims are relatively lightweight and therefore easy to work with yourself. However, they are only suitable for areas where they are not subjected to high stress, as the plastic makes them less robust than, for example, metal. The advantage of PVC profiles lies in their wide range of colors.

Aluminum - A compromise between stainless steel and PVC

Aluminum is easier to process than stainless steel and is suitable for moderate mechanical stress. We offer our aluminum profiles anodized or powder-coated. This makes them more robust against external influences.

Brass – the exceptional material for tile trims

Brass profiles are suitable for high loads. Further advantages include the strength and corrosion resistance of almost all brass alloys.
