Here's how to properly apply OTTOSEAL® S 100 silicone for sanitary applications:
The application of the premium sanitary silicone OTTOSEAL® S 100 is simple and clean – for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts.
Preparing the joint:
- Clean the surface thoroughly: dust-free, grease-free and dry.
- Completely remove old sealant. You can also find a suitable product for this.joint knifewith us.
- For optimal adhesion, use OTTO Primer according to the adhesion chart if necessary.
- Equip the joint with suitable backer rod (e.g. PE round cord) to ensure 2-sided adhesion.
Processing:
- Insert the cartridge into the appropriate silicone gun.
- Inject evenly into the joint – ideally without air bubbles.
- Within a short time, use a smoothing agent (e.g., OTTO smoothing agent or soap solution) andjoint smootherdeduct.
- Ensure good ventilation – especially for indoor applications.
After application:
- Remove fresh silicone residue immediately with a suitable cleaner.
- Curing time depending on temperature and humidity: approx. 1–2 mm per day.
- Protect from water exposure until skin formation is complete (approx. 10–20 minutes, depending on conditions).
