Optimize your floor-level shower with our products
Welcome to the fascinating world of bathroom design! When it comes to modern and stylish bathroom design, sloped wedges and glass receptacles are two important elements used especially in floor-level showers. These ingenious details offer not only aesthetic benefits, but also practical solutions for a comfortable and functional shower experience.
Sloping wedges play a crucial role in creating optimal drainage in the shower. Their clever design allows for a gentle slope in the floor area, allowing water to drain smoothly into the drain. This prevents the formation of puddles and the accumulation of moisture, which prevents the formation of mold and unpleasant odors.
Glass receptacles, on the other hand, are the perfect complement for a modern and elegant shower design. They are used to securely and stably attach glass walls, while adding aesthetic value. For showers that are flush with the floor, glass partitions are a particularly elegant choice as splashbacks. With various designs and finishes, glass enclosures can complement the desired style and appearance of the bathroom.
Floor-level showers are especially popular these days because they offer a seamless and barrier-free shower experience. Sloped wedges and glass receptacles play a crucial role in optimizing both the functionality and aesthetics of these shower solutions. Not only do they ensure efficient drainage and prevent moisture problems, but they also give the bathroom a modern and contemporary feel. Whether you are planning a new bathroom or renovating your existing one, sloped wedges and glass receptacles are the perfect companions for a stylish and comfortable floor-level shower. Slope wedges
Slope wedges are an important component in the installation of floor-level showers, as they create an efficient slope in the floor area to ensure optimal drainage. One of the renowned companies offering high-quality sloping wedges is DURAL.
Our sloping wedges in the range are made of stainless steel, a material that is characterized by its robustness and corrosion resistance. This ensures long-term use and minimizes the need for maintenance. The slope wedges offer a 2% slope, which is ideal for ensuring efficient water drainage. The 2% slope of e.g. the DURAL inclined wedge stainless steel 148 cm ensures that the water flows in the direction of the drain and that there is no standing water accumulation. This is especially important to avoid moisture problems and the formation of mold.
Another feature of the gradient wedges is their brushed surface. The finely ground surface creates a uniform as well as high-quality appearance and is also easy to clean. The leg is also designed in such a way that flexible adjustment to deviations is also possible. We offer all gradient wedges from DURAL in the common heights (10 mm, 11 mm & 12.5 mm). Our tip: Order your profiles 1-2 mm higher than the flooring you want to install.
The gradient wedges are available in different lengths to meet individual requirements and conditions. This allows for customized installation and adaptation to different shower sizes and configurations.
inclined wedge to wall connection
In addition to the "normal" inclined wedge we also offer one to wall connection. Wall tiles are glued to the vertical leg, making this inclined wedge perfect for floor-level showers in corner areas. Unrestricted water flow from the tiled shower wall directly to the floor. Dirt and mold buildup don't stand a chance.
Both sloping wedges make a technically ideal and visually perfect connection for tiled showers with line drainage. Showers with printed panel backsplashes can also be fitted with the DURAL inclined wedge stainless steel wall connection 98 cm can be installed professionally and easily.
We have this inclined wedge in the heights 8 mm, 10 mm & 12.5 mm in our assortment.
Processing inclined wedge
- To shorten the profile, always cut off the inclined wedge at the highest point
- Press the inclined wedge with perforated fastening leg into the fresh adhesive bed and align it
- Align the adjoining tiles so that the upper edge of the slope profile is flush with the tile. Cavity-free tile installation in the profile area - connecting joint 1.5 mm wide. Completely fill the joint space with grout.
inclined wedge to glass carrier
We also offer slope wedges with integrated glass carrier. This combination of inclined wedge and glass carrier facilitates the installation of glass walls or doors in the shower enclosure. The profiles (e.g. DURAL inclined wedge glass carrier 98 cm) not only form a 2% slope, which is crucial for appropriate drainage, they can also safely accommodate glass panels up to 12 mm thick to contain splashing water. Sloped wedges also cover the side walls of floor-level showers with the brushed surface; we offer extra variants here for the left and right sides respectively. The finely ground surface creates a uniform and high-quality look and is also easy to clean. The leg is also designed so that a flexible adjustment to deviations is also possible. The glass carrier ensures that the glass panels are securely fastened and guarantees their stability. This not only contributes to the functionality of the shower, but also adds an aesthetic touch to the overall design.
In summary, with their high-quality finish, 2% slope, brushed finish and option for a glass carrier, sloped wedges are an excellent choice for floor-level showers. They offer both optimal drainage and an attractive appearance. Sloping wedges with or without glass receptacles can be found in lengths of 98 cm, 120 cm, 148 cm & 200 cm in our store.
Processing inclined wedge with glass carrier
To shorten the profile, always cut off the inclined wedge at the highest point. Important: There should be no contact between the stainless steel and the glass. Please close the joint between the profile mount and the glass with sanitary silicone or suitable rubber seals / rubber inserts so that the glass does not rest on the bare stainless steel.
Glass mountings
In addition to slope wedges for glass carrier, we also have other profiles dedicated only to glass carrier. Here we distinguish between U-profiles for direct installation or for subsequent installation.
Our DURAL U-profile to the glass carrier made of finely ground stainless steel in 220 cm length and 19 mm height is perfect for the installation of your floor-level shower. The profile can safely accommodate glass panels up to 12 mm thick to contain splashing water in your bathroom. A U-profile can also be universally used in glass construction. You can use it for glass shower application as well as for glass partition or as edge protection for glass parapet. Wherever sheet metal edging is required for glass protection or as a fastening profile, the robust U-profiles are ideal.
Processing U-profile for glass carrier
Press the profile with the perforated fastening leg into the fresh adhesive bed and align. Then fill the glass support profile with silicone or rubber inserts so that the glass does not rest on the blank stainless steel. Connection joint 1.5 mm wide. Completely fill the joint space with grout.
We offer the U-profile for retrofitting in two surfaces. The U-profile stainless steel natural is also available with a brushed surface. Our U-profile for glass carrier made of V2A stainless steel in 220 cm length and 14 mm height offers the perfect glass support and can be easily retrofitted to your floor-level shower. It allows glass panes up to 10 mm or 12 mm thick (depending on the selected variant) to be securely held to contain the splashing water in your bathroom.
Processing U-profile for subsequent installation
The U-profile can be retrofitted, the mounting method here is entirely up to you - the profile can be screwed as well as glued with suitable adhesive sealant. Then fill the glass support profile with silicone or rubber inserts so that the glass does not rest on the blank stainless steel. Therefore, please add min. 1mm to the glass pane.
