Especially for the DURAL LED profile systems, the LED strips have been completely redesigned. In combination with our DURAL LED Connection set and the DURAL LED Profiles you have the right complete solution for your LED experience.
The DURAL LED strip is a particularly high-quality variant with 240 LED per meter. The strip offers continuously adjustable light colors from warm white (2700 K) to neutral white and cool white (6500 K). We offer the DURAL LED strip in lengths of 100 cm, 150 cm, 250 cm and 500 cm. Our LED strips are self-adhesive and equipped with a 180 cm long connecting cable, which you have to connect with the DURAL LED connection set. The DURAL LED strips have protection class 2. Protection class is a classification that in electrical engineering classifies equipment in terms of protection and safety measures against electric shock. The protection class is used to indicate in which environments electronic equipment may function and be used without problems.
What is the protection class?
The protection class for all electrical equipment is a kind of scale that indicates the environmental conditions for which the device is suitable. This classification ranges from IP00 to IP6K9K (ISO 20653) or IP69 (According to DIN EN 60529). IP stands for International Protection.
The first digit of the IP code always specifies the protection against foreign bodies and contact, the second digit specifies the protection against water.
Overview of protection class according to IP codes:
In the example IP20 the 2 stands for the 1st code number. This means, that the strip is protected against solid foreign bodies with diameter ≥ 50 mm and against access with the back of the hand. The 0 in IP20 stands for the 2nd code number, this says that the strip has no protection against water.
If you want to install LED strips in the living room or in other rooms where you do not expect any particular humidity, IP20 is completely sufficient.
In the area of washbasins, for example, you need at least IP44. You can achieve this protection with our LED Strip variant IP66 or via our DURAL LED basic profile silver (also available in black and titanium), which you additionally seal with the DURAL Adhesive tape for LED covers seal.
In showers and other places where you expect particularly high humidity, you need at least our DURAL LED strips IP66 (See sketch below).
Which protection class do I need?
This question is especially important if you want to use LED technology in environments where you have to expect humidity. The second code number indicates the protection against water. Here, too, we offer you a small overview:
