Sounds like a good thing, but how does 3D-Secure work?
It starts with registering with the bank from which you use the credit card. Depending on the bank, you will be asked for various details such as your birthday or home address.
Once this is done, 3D-Secure can be used in various ways. For example, you can assign a password to your credit card that you have to enter each time before paying. You also have the option of requesting a TAN by SMS, which you enter before making the payment. Some banks also offer 3D-Secure with the help of an app. In this case, the verification is carried out either via fingerprint or password protection. How the process works depends on you and your bank. The subsequent connection to your bank is of course encrypted so that neither the seller nor other third parties can view your data.
