DURABASE WS – the self-adhesive sealing system

The self-adhesive Warpseal sealing system complies with standards, is ETA-approved and has an extremely strong adhesive force of more than 20 t/m², which becomes active after just a few seconds. The self-adhesive sealing system can be used on a wide variety of materials such as wood, concrete, screed, plaster, plastics, stainless steel, glass, enamel and cementitious building materials. All parts of the seal are flexible and elastic, adapt perfectly to even the smallest unevenness and ensure a perfect seal. Thanks to the self-adhesive system, you can dispense with the use of adhesive, saving you time and effort. Dust- and dirt-free sealing is possible, as there is no mixing dirt and clean working phases are guaranteed. Conventional sealing with tile adhesive requires approximately 3.2 kg of adhesive and 0.5 to 1 litre of water per square metre of sealant – the self-adhesive sealing system does not require these materials. Durabase Warpseal is easy and clean to use and does not require water, making it ideal for installation on plaster and mineral plasters. No extra cement plaster is required in bathroom areas.

An extra-wide sealing membrane measuring 1.0 m forms the basis of the sealing system, which is simple and easy to install using a special squeegee. You do not have to wait for it to dry, as is the case with liquid waterproofing, which requires two coats with a waiting time of approx. 4 hours between them and a curing time. In addition to the sealing tape, the sealing system also offers the appropriate accessories. Necessary elements for corners, tubs and shower wedges – self-adhesive and siliconised cover papers facilitate handling. Tiles and other wall and floor coverings can be applied immediately.

Advantages of the self-adhesive sealing system

1. No more lugging around tile adhesive. Normally, approx. 3.2 kg of adhesive and 0.5 to 1 litre of water are used per square metre of waterproofing – the DURABASE WS self-adhesive waterproofing system does not require any of this.
2. Sealing work is no longer a problem with the DURABASE WS self-adhesive sealing system, as there is no dust or dirt. No dust – no contamination – always clean working conditions.
3. No waiting times for the DURABASE WS self-adhesive sealing system to dry. With liquid seals, for example, two coats are required with a waiting time of approx. 4 hours between them AND a further curing time.
4. Twice as fast to install, as there is no need to mix and apply adhesive.

Laying

1. Prepare the substrate and remove any dust
2. Spray the area to be sealed with WS spray primer.
3. Attach the moulded parts (corners, collars).
4. Apply WS sealing tape with sill protection to transition and corner areas
5. Lay the WS sealing membrane so that it overlaps the dark yellow areas of the moulded parts
6. Finish the dark edge strips of the sealing membrane with the self-adhesive WS fleece strips.
