Stair tread profiles with rubber inserts are particularly durable. They are equipped with a non-slip PVC insert and have a grey, anti-slip tread surface. The profiles are firmly embedded in the flooring, and the tread surfaces can be replaced at any time if they show signs of wear. Our profiles not only protect the leading edges of the steps, but also enhance the look of the staircase. Profiles with PVC inserts are available in various colours.

Like the wide stair tread profiles, they consist of an aluminum support profile with a PVC overlay. The non-visible lower part of the PVC overlay is made of hard plastic, and the non-slip surface is made of soft plastic. The visible width of the profile is 25 or 35 mm.

Application
Stair tread profiles with rubber inserts were developed for use in areas with low traffic. This includes private homes and smaller offices. These stair tread profiles can be used wherever no unusual chemical reactions are expected. To avoid corrosion, careful handling of cement materials is necessary. The profile should be completely embedded in the contact layer. This prevents the formation of voids in which alkaline water could accumulate.

For all products/materials: The suitability for mechanical and chemical stress must be carefully checked in each individual case. Generally, the generally accepted rules of technology must be observed!

Processing

1. Select a stair tread profile that is 1-2 mm higher than the tile thickness, as the tile adhesive itself also adds some thickness.
   
2. Start the flooring material at the riser, ensuring it is flush with the top of the riser.
   
3. Apply tile adhesive to the edge area with a notched trowel.
   
4. Press the support profile fully into the adhesive bed and align the front edge over the riser tile.
   
5. Fully cover the mounting brackets with filler.
   
6. Press the subsequent tiles firmly into place and align them so that they are flush with the top edge of the profile. Lay the tiles fully seated.
   
7. Leave a gap of 2-3 mm around the profile.
   
8. Fill the space between the tiles and the stair profile completely with grout.
   

Care instructions
The profiles require no special care. Soiling can be removed with commercially available cleaning agents. Cleaning agents must not contain solvents, hydrochloric acid or hydrofluoric acid and must not be abrasive.
