ET-S composite waterproofing system for floors and walls in interior areas
• For water exposure classes from W0-I to W3-I
• Complete system including accessories
• ETAG certification valid throughout Europe
Our ET-S waterproofing system is precisely tailored to the requirements of DIN 18534-5 for the composite waterproofing of interior spaces. The system's strength is demonstrated by its range of accessories, including various shaped parts and sealing tapes, ensuring compliance with the standard up to and including water exposure class W3-1. ET-S thus covers the complete waterproofing spectrum of areas exposed to utility and splash water: from private bathrooms and public showers to commercial kitchens.
Special system components are available for the various installation situations, which enable a fast and yet standard-compliant execution. Available are sealing membranes, sealing tape for covering joints or for wall/floor connections, sealing cuffs in three different sizes, and corners in various designs, also for special areas such as showers and bathtubs.
The system is complemented by a cut protection strip to protect the seal in the area of maintenance joints. A sound insulation strip reduces noise transmission if required. Another essential component of the system is the polymer adhesive Flex 310 M, which has been specially developed for the permanently waterproof connection of the overlaps of individual system components required by the standard. The ET-S sealing membrane can be laid in the tile adhesive bed just as quickly and easily as all mat systems.
Processors benefit from a high degree of flexibility due to the large number of adhesive brands that have been tested and approved as part of the system guarantee. From the outset, the criteria of the European standard 022-2 and the requirements of DIN 18534-5 were at the top of the product development specifications. With report number 2.1/13821/1088.0.1-2017, it was confirmed after months of testing that ET-S passed all tests and meets the high requirements.
Durable composite waterproofing of tiled surfaces in wet rooms is exposed to a wide variety of demands. Level-access showers with and without splash protection, open and closed bath areas, floor drains and wall connections are classified into 4 classes according to DIN 18534-5, depending on the possible risk of damage. However sensible this classification is, in practice it easily leads to ambiguities regarding which requirements must be considered in a specific case, especially when different water exposure classes meet in one room. ET-S is a waterproofing system that meets all the requirements of the standard, regardless of how the respective area is defined. Even if the water exposure class changes during renovation or extension, the standard-compliant composite waterproofing is still guaranteed, as ET-S also meets the increased demands up to class W3-I.
In the following image, we have superimposed the different water exposure classes and their areas of influence in damp rooms for clarification:
