An essential component of many construction and renovation projects is the effective sealing of buildings and other structures to prevent moisture penetration. Sealing mats offer a proven solution to ensure this protection. We offer a variety of sealing mats. You will find self-adhesive sealing mats, sealing mats with decoupling effect, and for example, the DURAL ET-S sealing membrane. Each variant offers specific advantages and application possibilities to meet individual requirements.
Our self-adhesive sealing membrane WS enables fast and uncomplicated installation. An extra-wide sealing membrane of 1.0 m forms the basis of the sealing system, which is easy and simple to install with a special squeegee. Due to the polyethylene material, the sealing membrane is flexible and stretchable, adapts optimally to the smallest irregularities and thus ensures optimal sealing. The self-adhesive properties simplify application and save valuable time during the construction phase.

For areas where, in addition to waterproofing, a decoupling function is also required, waterproofing mats with a decoupling effect are ideal. These special mats usually consist of durable polypropylene and are equipped with a unique structure. This allows for freedom of movement and can absorb stresses and cracks in the substrate. By protecting against damage caused by movement, waterproofing mats with a decoupling effect offer an ideal solution for floor coverings and tiles in high-traffic areas.
Our high-performance composite waterproofing and decoupling system is ideal for use with ceramic and natural stone floor coverings in both indoor and outdoor applications. Since tiles and natural stone coverings are not inherently waterproof and cracks in the substrate can occur during the renovation of old surfaces, it is necessary to take appropriate measures to ensure a secure and moisture-proof covering. Our innovative waterproofing and decoupling membrane offers a solution to these challenges.
The special three-layer structure of the mat combines a sealing function with outstanding crack-bridging properties. This makes the sealing mat suitable even for areas with high moisture exposure indoors. Our product is used on surfaces in public and private areas that are subjected to direct or indirect stress. It is particularly suitable for rooms where water is frequently used or cleaned, such as areas around swimming pools and shower facilities. Outdoors, the sealing mat meets the requirements of stress class B0, meaning it can be used on directly and indirectly stressed surfaces such as balconies and terraces (not above occupied rooms).
Our sealing mat has been tested as a reliable sealing membrane in combination with tile and slab coverings and meets the requirements for structural waterproofing against non-receding water under high stress. It is therefore ideally suited for wet rooms in public and commercial areas.
The DURAL ET-S sealing membrane is a high-quality sealing mat made of polypropylene, specially designed for areas subjected to high mechanical stress. This sealing membrane offers excellent chemical resistance and reliably protects against moisture. Our ET-S sealing membrane is a system component of our ETAG-tested sealing system for bathrooms and wet rooms. All system components are approved for use throughout Europe thanks to their ETAG testing and are permitted for water exposure classes from "W0-1" (low) up to and including "W3-1" (very high). For easier processing, the ET-S sealing membrane has a printed marking for precise cutting.

The main difference between sealing mats made of polypropylene and polyethylene lies in the properties and uses of the two materials. Here are some differences:
Polypropylene is generally more chemically resistant than polyethylene. It is more resistant to various chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and solvents. Therefore, polypropylene sealing mats are better suited for areas where increased chemical resistance is required. Polypropylene is also more temperature-resistant than polyethylene. It can withstand higher temperatures without losing its structural integrity. In contrast, polyethylene is more susceptible to deformation and melting at high temperatures. So, if high temperatures play a role in the application area, polypropylene sealing mats are the better choice. Polypropylene is generally stiffer and stronger than polyethylene. It offers higher strength and stability, making it a good choice for applications requiring increased mechanical stress. Polyethylene, on the other hand, is more flexible and can adapt better to uneven surfaces. Polyethylene is widely used and generally more cost-effective than polypropylene. It is a commonly used material in various industries and applications, while polypropylene meets more specific requirements in some cases and can therefore be somewhat more expensive.
When choosing between polypropylene and polyethylene sealing mats, the specific requirements of the project should be considered. If higher chemical resistance, temperature resistance, or strength is required, polypropylene is the preferred option. If flexibility and cost play a larger role and the requirements are not so demanding, polyethylene may be a suitable choice. It is advisable to check the manufacturer's product information and, if necessary, seek expert advice to find the best possible sealing solution.
