Theoretically, you can lay tiles on any substrate. But beware! Different floors = different properties. This means that the respective preparatory work must be individually adapted to the respective substrate.

We will now present you with a selection of different tools that will help you optimally prepare the substrate.

The Subsoil

What should the substrate look like?

Nothing works without the right substrate. It forms the basis for the final result. This applies whether it's about aesthetics or the medium- to long-term adhesion of the tiles.

The substrate must be clean, dry, dust-free, load-bearing and even. The larger the tiles, the less uneven the floor should be. Therefore, smooth out any unevenness with a spiked smoothing roller or a surface spatula and use the string lines as a guide for a straight line.
