Skirting boards for mounting over existing ones are a practical way to quickly and easily improve the appearance of a room without having to remove or replace the existing skirting boards. This type of skirting board is also known as an overlay skirting board or renovation skirting board. The installation of these skirting boards is very simple and requires only a few tools. The boards are simply glued over the existing ones, creating a clean and seamless look.

Baseboards are most effectively attached to plaster, concrete, masonry, or other substrates using polymer cartridge adhesive. Before starting the application, the back of the baseboard should be degreased with a neutral cleaner to achieve sufficient adhesion. Then, the adhesive can be applied continuously with a width of approximately 1 cm along the upper and lower edges of the baseboard, aligned with the wall surface, and pressed firmly.
Alternatively, spot bonding of the base in the form of adhesive dots, which are applied at intervals of approx. 30 cm (= 9 adhesive dots on a profile length), is also possible.
