Give your home the finishing touch with our elegant skirting boards.

What are skirting boards and why are they needed?

Baseboard

Baseboards are strips of material, often running along the bottom of a wall, that cover the transition between the wall and the floor. They are available in various sizes, materials, and designs and can be made of wood, aluminum, stainless steel, plastic, or other materials. Baseboards serve several purposes. Firstly, they create a clean and decorative finish between the wall and floor, concealing any gaps or irregularities. Secondly, they protect the wall from bumps, scratches, and dirt that can occur during floor cleaning. Furthermore, they can also help hide cables and pipes running along the wall. By choosing the right size and color, baseboards can visually enlarge or reduce the size of a room. A wide baseboard makes a room appear smaller, while a narrow baseboard creates the impression of increased ceiling height.

Furthermore, skirting boards offer the possibility to complement or emphasize the style of a room. The wide variety of different skirting boards available offers a large selection that optimally underlines or even enhances the style of the room. Skirting boards are known under many names. Depending on the region and area, they are also known by other names. They are called skirting boards, baseboards, floorboards, shoe moldings, decorative moldings, chair rails, or simply just moldings.

Overall, skirting boards are a useful and aesthetic addition to any room, while also optimizing hygiene in rooms and apartments.

Aluminum baseboards

Baseboard application

Let's start with our standard aluminum baseboard. This baseboard serves the purpose of visual enhancement and offers many different design options with its wide range of colors. You can choose between an anodized (silver & titanium), powder-coated (white) and anodized-brushed (silver) surface. Furthermore, our aluminum baseboard can be partially bent using the Curver ; please note the information in the respective product description. You can find matching accessories in our range.

Stainless steel baseboards

We also offer stainless steel skirting boards. These are exclusively available with a polished surface. Stainless steel skirting boards are a modern and elegant option for finishing wall edges in residential and commercial spaces. First of all, stainless steel is a very robust material that is resistant to scratches, impacts, and wear and tear. It is also very durable and corrosion-resistant, meaning it remains in good condition even with long-term use. Another advantage is that they are very easy to clean and maintain. They can simply be wiped with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Although they may be somewhat more expensive than other materials, investing in stainless steel skirting boards is a long-term solution that can pay off, as their durability and ease of maintenance often mean they don't need to be replaced as quickly as other materials.

LED baseboards

LED skirting boards are a modern and innovative way to design rooms stylishly and functionally. Unlike conventional skirting boards, LED skirting boards have integrated LED lights that emit a soft and even glow. Thanks to LED technology, skirting boards can also serve as a useful light source to illuminate dark corners or create indirect lighting. This can be particularly useful in rooms with little daylight or in darkened areas. Overall, LED skirting boards (e.g., the silver aluminum LED skirting board ) are a modern and innovative option for designing rooms stylishly and functionally. They offer many advantages, such as glare-free, indirect lighting, a longer lifespan, and a robust design.

We offer LED baseboards made of anodized aluminum. You can choose between the colors silver, titanium and champagne.

Baseboards for mounting over existing moldings

Baseboards for existing moldings

Our Reno silver skirting board can be easily mounted over existing skirting boards without having to remove them first. The product is particularly flexible and can be combined with various floor coverings, giving rooms a modern look. Our mounting adhesive is suitable for fixing and is universally applicable, adhering to almost all substrates. Skirting boards for mounting over existing ones are a practical way to quickly and easily improve the appearance of a room without having to remove or replace the existing skirting boards. This type of skirting board is also known as an overlay skirting board or renovation skirting board. The installation of these skirting boards is very simple and requires only a few tools. The boards are simply glued over the existing ones, creating a clean and seamless look.

Another advantage of baseboards that can be mounted over existing ones is that they offer a cost-effective way to improve the look of a room without having to undertake extensive renovations. They are also a great option for renters who are not allowed to make permanent changes to the walls or floors.

Processing

Baseboards are most effectively attached to plaster, concrete, masonry, or other substrates using polymer cartridge adhesive. Before starting the application, the back of the baseboard should be degreased with a neutral cleaner to achieve sufficient adhesion. Then, the adhesive can be applied continuously with a width of approximately 1 cm along the upper and lower edges of the baseboard, aligned with the wall surface, and pressed firmly.

Alternatively, spot bonding of the base in the form of adhesive dots, which are applied at intervals of approx. 30 cm (= 9 adhesive dots on a profile length), is also possible.
