Areas of application for the CI++ decoupling mat:
TheCI++ decoupling matis ideally suited for the renovation of old floors in indoor and outdoor areas.
It offers an excellent solution for bridging cracks and creates a stable base for laying tiles.
This mat is particularly suitable for areas with underfloor heating. The tile size should be at least 50 x 50 mm, while the tile thickness should be at least 6 mm.
Here's how to install the CI++ decoupling mat:
- Preparing the substrate:
The subfloor must be dry, load-bearing and even. In addition, leveling measures must be carried out before laying the mat. - Apply thin-bed mortar:
Thin-bed mortar is applied to the properly prepared substrate using a 4 x 4 mm notched trowel (important: do not use a larger notch). For most substrates, a hydraulically setting flexible mortar or fast-setting flexible adhesive according to DIN EN 12004 / C2 can be used. - Laying the mat:
Press the cut strips with the fleece into the adhesive. Use a pressure roller for this. Make sure that the mats are not clamped in a force-fit manner. - Overlapping mat edges:
The joints of mats laid side by side can be sealed with, for example, the DURAL sealing tape WP. Expansion joints must be made waterproof with the tape in a loop shape..
In indoor areas, the tiles can be laid immediately after gluing using the thin-bed method. For this purpose, it is advisable to fill the recesses of the mats in one operation and then comb the thin-bed mortar with the notches.
For exterior applications, tile laying should only begin after the smoothing compound has hardened.
