Connecting profiles are tile strips used in the construction industry to create a connection between two different building elements. Connecting profiles, also known as concave profiles, have an inwardly curved rounding, creating a durable, aesthetically pleasing transition between, for example, two sections of wall. Cracked, poorly bonded, or unsightly yellowed or soiled silicone joints are a thing of the past. This strip allows old joints to disappear quickly and easily, replacing them with a clean transition. While dirt inevitably collects in edges, our rounded profiles are easy to clean. Connecting profiles open up entirely new design possibilities for the renovation or refurbishment of rooms and stairwells in both private and commercial spaces. They are also suitable for use in public and semi-public areas, for example, in the visually appealing design of offices, exhibition areas, educational or medical facilities, conference rooms, foyers, and much more. For optical and technical reasons, they should be installed in conjunction with matching inner and outer corner pieces. They are also frequently used for cladding wall and ceiling areas and serve to conceal or round off unsightly edges and corners.
We offer a small but high-quality selection of connecting profiles in our shop. You can choose from various rails that differ in their properties to achieve the best possible result for different construction situations. For example, we offer narrow and wide adjustment profiles made of aluminum.
We stock the narrow version (e.g. connecting profile, white aluminum ) with a width/height of 8 mm in silver, titanium and white. Because the profile contributes to hygiene, it is often used in bathrooms to replace soiled silicone seals and allow easy cleaning. We also have matching accessories for the narrow connecting profile in our shop, such as outer corners, inner corners and end caps.
The wide version (e.g. COVE connection profile, silver aluminum) with a width/height of 28 mm is available in our range in white powder-coated and silver anodized finishes. The profile is often used in kitchens, creating clean and durable corner areas that are easy to clean – definitely a plus point in the kitchen. We also stock the appropriate accessories for the wide connection profile, such as outer corners, inner corners, end caps and 3D inner corners (e.g. 3D inner corner COVE connection profile, silver ).
For optical and technical reasons, the connecting or concave profiles should be installed in conjunction with accessories.
External corners: Visually connect the connecting profile in an attractive way and ensure that clean, durable corner areas are created.
Inner corners: Visually connect the connecting profile in an attractive way, are waterproof and technically ideal to ensure the best possible grip.
End caps: These are the "icing on the cake" for our connecting profiles and ensure that the rails have an aesthetically pleasing lateral finish.
3D inner corners: Enables both vertical and horizontal connection of connecting profiles through 3 connections.
Processing the narrow adjustment profiles is extremely simple and begins directly after old and cracked silicone joints have been completely removed during renovation work and the free joint cavities have been filled with an elastic sealant. Here we recommend our DURAL ET-S adhesive sealant . The central strip of the tile strip is then simply pressed into the joints. It doesn't matter whether it is used on vertical or horizontal joints; however, for the reasons mentioned above, it should be installed with matching inner and outer corner pieces.
Tip: The corners should be placed first to achieve an optimal tiling result. For a precise fit at the inner corners, it is also possible to shorten the tile strips slightly (provided you have the right tools).
