Mats and rolls at a glance
We have a wide selection of different mats. You have the choice between:
- Drainage mats
- Decoupling mats
- Waterproofing
- Soundproofing
- Slip protection
We hope that this will give you a better impression of the different functions of the mats. Are you interested in a mat? You can find more information in the subcategories themselves.
Drainage mats
Drainage mats are special mats, usually made of plastic or rubber, used to drain surfaces and reduce moisture. They have a special perforated structure that allows water to drain through the mats.
For this reason Drainage mats are used on patios, balconies, roof decks, walkways, driveways and parking lots to improve the drainage of rainwater and thus prevent damage to the surface. When water cannot drain properly on an outdoor surface, it can cause damage such as cracking of concrete or asphalt, rotting of wood, mold growth and rusting of metals. Standing water on an outdoor surface can also pose a safety hazard by creating slip hazards.
A drainage mat, such as our DURAL drainage mat DD80++, can help drain water quickly and effectively, which can help the surface last longer. Most drainage mats are easy to install and can be easily cut to fit the shape and size of the surface being worked on.
Decoupling Mats
Decoupling mats are special mats used to decouple floor coverings. Decoupling mats are laid between the substrate and the floor covering and can be used in various applications, such as indoors, outdoors, on balconies, terraces or when laying tiles or parquet.
The use of Decoupling mats can help prevent damage to the flooring that can be caused by stresses and cracks in the subfloor. When the subfloor moves or the temperature changes, it can cause stresses that can lead to cracks and other damage to the flooring. A decoupling mat absorbs these stresses, preventing them from being transferred to the flooring.
Decoupling mats, e.g. our DURAL Decoupling mat CI++, are usually made of high-quality, durable materials such as rubber, polyethylene or polypropylene and are also available in various lengths. They can be easily cut to fit the size and shape of the floor.
Waterproofing
Waterproofing in conjunction with tiles is especially important to ensure that the substrate is protected from moisture and water. Tiles are usually not waterproof because the joints between the tiles can allow water to pass through, especially if they are damaged or worn. Waterproofing under tiles can prevent moisture from seeping into the substrate and causing damage. This is especially important in areas like bathrooms, showers, or kitchens where water can regularly leak onto the floor.
There are several ways to achieve waterproofing under tiles. One option is to use liquid waterproofing, which is applied to the subfloor to create a waterproof barrier. Another option is to use waterproofing membranes or waterproofing mats (e.g. Waterproofing mat with decoupling effect), which are applied under the tiles. You can find more information at Waterproofing.
Soundproofing
Sound and impact protection mats are special floor coverings designed to reduce the sound and vibrations generated by walking on a floor. These mats can be used under different types of flooring, such as laminate, parquet, tile or vinyl flooring. Impact protection mats are usually made of materials such as polypropylene with a quartz sand layer. These materials have the ability to absorb and dampen sound and vibrations before they transfer to the floor or structure below.
Soundproofing mats, e.g. our DURAL Impact Sound Insulation Mat SW14, offer several advantages. First, they reduce the noise generated by foot traffic on the floor, especially in apartment buildings or in rooms adjacent to other living spaces. Secondly, they protect the underlying floor and structure from damage caused by vibrations that can result from foot traffic.
Anti-slip
Slip-resistant tapes are special tapes that can be applied to smooth surfaces to reduce the risk of slipping. They are especially popular for use on stairs & ramps. Because they are self-adhesive, they are usually easy to install and require no special tools. Our anti-slip adhesive tapes can be attached to a wide variety of surfaces. Not only do they add quite a bit to safety by reducing the risk of falls and injuries on slippery surfaces, but they are also very durable due to the weatherproof and UV-resistant material.
